Construction a Challenge

  • July 2nd, 2006

Living here in the Ozarks, I sometimes take for granted all the effort that goes into a road. Perhaps you yourself haven’t seen exactly how hard it can be to cut a new path from point a to point b. The Branson Daily News has an article about this process. If you like stuff about “Dolomite”, “Limestone”, and explosions then you might want to check it out.

It’s Round-About Time!

  • May 15th, 2006

I thought this might be fun! Recently, Branson got a “road feature” that many other cities already have. It’s a round about (I think that’s what it is called).

I have heard two basic thoughts on this traffic routing method:

The first is that it is great, innovative and a “cool new toy” as one person put it. The second is that it is just another way for visitors to get mixed up while trying to find their way to the next destination.

So, what about you? If you live in Branson or visit regularly, what are your thoughts on this one?

Just so everyone knows, the round about I’m speaking of is right in front of Skaggs Hospital downtown.

Romantic Getaway Article

  • May 15th, 2006

So, I found out that more than a few people are interested in romantic weekend getaways. The problem is everybody seems to be focusing on romantic getaway “packages”. In my opinion, that’s like buying a ring that is sitting in a case full of the exact same thing. Anyway, I wrote an article about romantic weekend getaways in Branson. You can read the article here. I would appreciate any thoughts on whether or not you think packages are just as “romantic” as putting one together yourself.

Someone Turn on the A/C!

Man! 80+ for temperatures two days in a row. It’s a good thing I watered my grass Saturday. I can’t imagine what the temperature feels like at Silver Dollar City (the blacktop must be insanely hot). However, that must be where all the people are, since I do not see any shopping at Factory Merchants.
